Iron

Iron is an indispensable material in industry and trade. It has been used for centuries in the manufacture of tools, machines and decorative objects such as cast iron teapots. Thanks to its durability and versatility, iron plays a central role in numerous manufacturing processes and design applications. Our range of accessories also includes iron: We offer you a large selection of high-quality iron pots and teapots. On this page, we introduce you to the exciting manufacturing process and the advantages of our cast iron pots.

The Iron Production

The classic cast iron teapots have been produced in only slightly modified form for centuries. Experienced master craftsmen produce aluminium moulds in whose cavity the iron teapots are cast.A furnace, which heats and liquefies the iron to fill the moulds, is in operation 24 hours a day.

Portions of the molten iron are removed from the furnace, transported via a rail system to casting fields and poured into aluminium moulds located in holes in the ground. After 24 hours at the earliest, the aluminium casting moulds are dug out of the ground.

The insides of the unfinished teapots are then polished to make them optimally receptive for the subsequent enamel sealing. This makes the teapots particularly resistant. A seamless and even glaze is achieved by pouring the liquid enamel around the body several times.

Areas that are difficult to access, such as the edges of the pot, are finished by hand. After a drying and firing period, the glaze hardens and seals the teapots. In a further step, the outside of the teapots is finished with selected colours in elegant shiny and matt shades. A final firing seals the quality of the precious products.
