Tins
Tins are much more than mere containers – they combine design, functionality,
and sustainability in a single product. Whether handmade one-of-a-kind pieces or
mass-produced classics, each tin tells its own story and contributes to the
practical as well as aesthetic design of our everyday lives. For us, quality and
care are at the forefront, ensuring we offer our customers products that are not
only practical but also beautiful and environmentally
friendly.
The Tin Production
The Cha Cult® tins are produced using different
manufacturing techniques, depending on the shape and finish.
The Japanese
decorative tins with Washi paper require a lot of manual labour, as the paper is
carefully applied, while the Chinese tins (25 g, 50 g, 100 g) are largely
handmade – from shaping the tin body to assembling the individual
parts.
The round tins, on the other hand, are predominantly formed and
assembled by machine.
In all cases, production begins with printing the design onto large sheets,
which are then cut into strips. The tins are assembled at various workstations
before undergoing a strict quality inspection.
Thus, handcraft and
machine production come together in a meticulous manufacturing process, which
demands different requirements for each type of tin.
Our Cha Cult® Tins
In the realm of tins, the brand Cha Cult® has
stood for outstanding quality and exceptional design for many years. Many of our
customers discover our brand through the Cha Cult®
logo and specifically ask for more products. Our exclusive tins – whether in
silver or gold with the embossed Cha Cult® logo, or
with a special sticker design – bear the Cha Cult®
emblem as a trademark.
We are proud to say that over 75% of our tins are
now sold directly under our own brand, Cha Cult®, at
Dethlefsen & Balk.
The remaining 25% of our tins come from external
brands or are not produced under the Cha Cult®
brand. However, you can be sure that these products always meet our very high
quality standards.
Our tin range benefits from our decades of experience in product development
and design selection. Our design team visits trade fairs worldwide and regularly
exchanges ideas with creative minds and external designers to spot trends and
implement innovative ideas for Cha
Cult®.
Sustainable Product Packaging
In addition to design and functionality, the sustainability aspect is
particularly important to us. In general, our tins are reusable, making them
environmentally friendly. We also place great emphasis on being as eco-friendly
as possible with our transport packaging. For several years now, our tins have
no longer been wrapped in plastic but in paper to protect them from scratches
and dust.
