After the foundation of the garden in 1861, Ambootia firmly established its name in Darjeeling throughout the following decades. In 1987, after the takeover and reorganisation of the current owner, the garden moved up into the first league and has now been producing organically cultivated teas for more than 20 years. The estate covers an area of almost 1,000 hectares with 350 of them covered by tea. Ambootia literally means “place of the mango trees”. Multifaceted spring harvest, nicely flowery-grassy with a truly well-balanced, full body.
This quality is already blended in the country of origin from high-quality garden teas. We have selected teas from the medium and late first flush season. This blend is characterized by a medium-large, almost black leaf and a light brass color of the infusion. The taste of this first flush blend leaves a fresh, slightly spicy impression with a little "body", which is also reflected in the scent. Always a treat!
In addition to our conventional classic, we are proud to offer a highly aromatic organic first flush leaf blend. While searching for well-balanced leaf qualities that also present a harmonious taste, we found the components for this blend made of selected crops, which result in a mild blend and form the perfect companion throughout the day. A wonderfully crafted tea presenting a fresh, slightly spicy character.
